Barn Owl sighting at Chelmarsh ( and Starlings ! )
Tuesday 18th October:
After dark : fantastic sighting of Barn Owl as turned off main road onto track up to Dinney Farm. Followed it all the way along - stunning acrobatics along the hedgerow, lit up in the headlights.
Forgot to mention 40-50 Starlings looking to roost on Sunday - sadly not near the nets !

House Sparrow RAS - no joy !
Thursday 13th October 2011:
Once again our RAS colour-ringing attempts to capture House Sparrows proved disappointing ... to say the least. Zero ! We have at least identified a very promising roost site for future attempts.
Despite many nets and good time investment, near perfect weather conditions, Linda and I only managed to catch: 2 Chaffinch, 4 Dunnock, 3 Blue Tit and a Robin !
Overhead: Skylark, Meadow Pipit moving and first Redwing and Fieldfares
