CES 4 - much quieter
Sunday 3rd June 2018:
Stu, Joe, Dave, Linda and Sadie.
Promising calm and still conditions, but after a week of torrential downpours and storms - certainly the concern is that many nests will have been washed out.
Total of 28 birds ( 2017: 49 2016: 43 2015: 49 and 2014: 29)
Sedge Warbler 2/10 Blue Tit 0/2 Reed Warbler 4/7 Song Thrush 1/0 Wren 0/2
Highlight was a Reed Warbler, originally rung by James in July 2010!
Also seen or heard:
Green Woodpecker, Oystercatcher (still with young), Coot (still with 7 young), Raven, Grey Heron, possible Garganey (flying over), Great Crested Grebe (on res.)
