Another failed Sand Martin roost catch

Saturday 9th April 2016:


Stuart & Linda main reed bed.


Three nets.  A small flock of 25-30 Sand Martins came in and flew around briefly towards dusk but did not come in to roost.  1 Reed Bunting caught.


Other birds:  3 Curlew, possible ping heard by both, but very briefly ...

No hirundines yet ...

Wednesday 31st March 2016:
Dave and Stu with nets on Baxter's.


No Sand Martins to be seen.  Birds ringed:  1 Snipe,  4 Reed Buntings
Others seen:  Chiffchaff, Grey Heron, Tawny Owl, Water Rail
